New Version Delivers Improved Speed, Revolutionary Tools &
Exclusive Texts
Logos Research Systems, Inc.,
announced today the release of
Logos Bible Software 3, the newest version of the leading software
for serious study of the Bible. Logos 3 runs faster, is easier to use,
and provides more books, new tools, and a number of freshly-minted
resources that are exclusive to Logos Bible Software. The top 100 new
features and enhancements in Logos 3 are listed at
www.logos.com/logos3/100.
“We’ve devoted thousands of hours to
building new tools, speeding things up, and giving the interface a new
look for Logos 3,” said Bob Pritchett, Logos President and CEO. “With
all the new features and resources in the reconfigured base
collections, there’s never been a better time for pastors, scholars,
students, and laypeople to take their study of Scripture to the next
level.”
Logos 3 is easier than ever to use—the
software opens to a streamlined home page where the user simply enters
a passage, word or topic then clicks “Go!” to launch an in-depth
study. For version 3, all major tools and reports have been revised to
improve speed and usability. The new Bible Speed Search finds a word
or phrase in your Bible as quickly as you can type. The new Bible Word
Study report puts in-depth word study within reach of all users: just
enter a word and the software looks up the definition, dictionary
entries, root words, and generates a concordance showing every use of
the word within the Bible.
Other new features enable the user to:
 | view graphically the relationships
between people in the Bible |
 | mark up text in Bibles and other
electronic texts with 82 different highlighter styles and graphical
symbols |
 | insert bookmarks and view browsing
history to quickly return to a passage or book |
 | instantly jump to the next
occurrence of a word within a resource |
 | and much more! |
The newly reconfigured Logos Bible
Software 3 library collections have been expanded with new content,
adding value to each collection. A new top-end collection—Scholar's
Library Gold—contains more than 700 Bibles and Bible
reference titles worth more than $11,700.00 in equivalent print
editions.
Most of the collections now include
newly-created reverse interlinear Bibles, such as
The ESV
English-Greek Reverse Interlinear New Testament, co-published by
Logos Bible Software and Crossway Books. These revolutionary, new
interlinear Bibles put the English translation on the top line, in
normal English word order, making it easier than ever for English-only
students of Scripture to study the Bible in its original languages.
Logos 3 also marks the first time that
syntactically tagged
Bibles are available in a commercial Bible software package.
Syntax is the counterpart to morphology—syntactic tagging conveys
information about how the words in a sentence relate to one another
and helps the exegete understand Greek or Hebrew words in context. The
reconfigured Logos Bible Software 3 language collections such as
Scholar’s Library contain three syntactically tagged Bible texts: The
Andersen-Forbes Analyzed Text of the Hebrew Bible, OpenText.org
Syntactically Analyzed Greek New Testament, and Lexham Syntactic Greek
New Testament. These texts are exclusive to Logos Bible Software and
are useful to the scholar and to any serious student of Scripture.
